A Sanctuary of Restorative Touch

Your First Visit to
Thai Healing Hands.

Everything you need to know — so you can arrive relaxed and leave restored.

Questions before you book?  780-782-5492  ·  Rmtsupattra@gmail.com

We know that booking your first massage — especially at a clinic you've never visited — can come with a few questions. What do I wear? Will I have to undress? What if the pressure is too much? These are completely normal things to wonder about, and we want to answer all of them before you even walk through our door.

At Thai Healing Hands, every session begins with a conversation and ends with you feeling genuinely cared for. Here is exactly what to expect.

01

Step One

Before You Arrive

Complete Your Intake Form

After booking via Jane App, you'll receive a confirmation email with a link to a short digital health intake form. Complete it before you arrive — it covers your health history, areas of concern, and session goals. No clipboard at the front desk.

Arrive 10–15 Minutes Early

This gives you time to settle in, ask any last-minute questions, and begin unwinding before your session starts. Our reception area is calm and quiet — there's no rush. First-time clients who arrive a little early consistently tell us it made a difference.

What to Bring

  • · Your extended health benefits card if you plan to use insurance
  • · Comfortable clothing if booked for Traditional Thai Massage
  • · Nothing else — we provide everything you need

02

Step Two

During Your Session

What to Wear

Traditional Thai Massage

Performed fully clothed. We provide clean, loose-fitting Thai massage attire — loose trousers and a short-sleeved top. No undressing is required, and there is no massage oil involved. You will be gently guided through assisted stretches and rhythmic compressions on a comfortable mat or low table.

Deep Tissue, Oil Massage & All Other Treatments

Performed with the client undressed to their own level of comfort, with professional draping throughout. You will never be asked to remove more clothing than you are comfortable with. A sheet and blanket cover you at all times.

Your modesty is always protected — without exception.

Professional draping is used throughout every session. Only the area of the body being actively worked on is uncovered at any one time. Everything else remains covered with a sheet and blanket. This is standard clinical practice and our therapists are trained to uphold it strictly. If you ever feel uncomfortable for any reason, simply say so — the session will be adjusted or stopped immediately, no questions asked.

Communicating with Your Therapist

Your comfort is the measure of a good session — not how much pressure was applied or how deep the work went. Please speak up if:

·

The pressure is too firm or too light

·

A technique feels uncomfortable

·

You are too warm or too cool

·

You'd like to focus on a specific area

·

You simply want to rest in silence — that is perfectly fine

There are no wrong answers. A brief check-in at the start of your session and midway through is standard practice.

Step Three

After Your Session

You May Feel Deeply Relaxed

Some clients feel immediately energised. Others feel pleasantly drowsy. Both are completely normal responses to therapeutic massage. If your session involves deep tissue work, you may notice mild tenderness in treated areas for 24 to 48 hours — similar to the feeling after a good workout. This is a normal part of recovery.

Drink Plenty of Water

Massage increases circulation and stimulates the lymphatic system. Staying hydrated supports your body's natural recovery and reduces post-session tenderness. We recommend two to three glasses in the first few hours.

Take It Easy

Give your body a few hours to integrate the work. A deep tissue session is not the time to schedule an intense gym session or a stressful afternoon of errands.

Insurance Receipts & Direct Billing

Thai Healing Hands offers direct billing to most major extended health benefit providers, including Alberta Blue Cross, Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Desjardins, Green Shield Canada, Medavie Blue Cross, iA Financial Group, Equitable Life, Empire Life, and many more.

Where direct billing is not available, a full official receipt is issued automatically through Jane App at the time of payment, formatted for your insurer's reimbursement requirements.

Massage therapy by a Registered Massage Therapist is GST/HST-exempt in Canada. No tax will be added to your invoice.
